Our Process

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Throughout each stage of our process within each department; estimating, detailing, procurement, fabrication, finishes, erection and project management - there is a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) representative recording our progress. Our QA plan is based on accessibility and accountability and there will always be a responsible representative available to answer your questions and address any concerns or changes that may arise during or after the project.

As a certified AISC and LA City fabricator, it is Quality Iron's responsibility to exceed our industry's QA standards at every stage of the project; our team fosters a "Right the First Time" attitude towards QA, with the goal of eliminating mistakes through a learner's culture. We understand that Quality is ultimately determined by the product users and clients and that Quality does not have to be the same as expensive.

A significant portion to our QA program encompasses our commitment to safety and our OnQ Safety program is integrated in to the production and erection components of our QA program, with an emphasis on being safe in everything that we do we eliminate injury and work loss as well.

DESIGN BUILD AND ESTIMATING

Quality Iron offers many services and products that our competitors do not offer - and the list seems to be growing every year. One of the most valuable services that Quality Iron offers is a full time Design – Build resource. Our Design – Build team has worked with many of the largest General Contractors in the country, utilizing the most advanced technology – Quality Iron operates off of a BIM platform – and a can do attitude.

Most projects begin with our Design-Build / Estimating department and we think that we make a good first impression. We pride ourselves in working side by side with our clients early on in the project and understand the patience and commitment many Design-Build opportunities require. Quality Iron has earned a reputation over the years for providing professional on-time proposals, regardless of the size of the project.

With over 50 years of combined steel Design-Build / Estimating experience on our team we understand the importance of an accurate and detailed proposal and have the experience and technology to work with any set of plans – from a Design-Build 50% set located on an ftp site download to a sketch on a piece of torn cardboard – our in-house estimating department has seen it all.

A dedicated estimator is assigned to each project the day we accept the invitation to provide a proposal, aligning our goals with yours, we are committed to winning work through old fashioned due diligence and creative value engineering.

BIM

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process of generating and managing building data during its life cycle. Typically it uses three-dimensional, real-time, dynamic building modeling software to increase productivity in building design and construction. The process produces the Building Information Model, which encompasses building geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, and quantities and properties of all the building components. Quality Iron committed to the BIM technology method years ago, when it became apparent to us that this type of technology was not only the future of the industry, but the present. More and more of our clients work off of a BIM platform and our in-house detailers and engineers have been using BIM technology to successfully detail and operate steel projects throughout the country in the Military, Commercial, Solar and Public Works markets.

DETAILING

Quality Iron has been serving the Southern California are as a structural steel and miscellaneous fabricator / erector since 1997 and nowhere is that experience more valuable to our client's than at the design and detailing table. Our formally trained on-site detailers are involved from day one and stay engaged on the project until 100% completion – this continuity has proven to be the difference maker on every project were are engaged on.

Unlike other steel fabricators, our team works off of the same set of in-house drawings; from procurement, to fabrication, to finish, to erection – we control the data and all of our employees are trained to read the Quality drawings that our clients have come to know and trust.

FABRICATION

Located in Spring Valley, California Quality Iron's fabrication facility is worth the visit. Situated on just under 2 acres, we operate one of the last multi-disciplined steel shops in the South West. Quality Iron fabricates Structural Steel, Ornamental Iron, Miscellaneous Metals - and Solar Structures. All of these products are fabricated at the same location – if there is steel / iron on your project, we can fabricate it!

Our team of certified welders and fabricators work under the regulatory disciple of both the LA City certified and AISC certified fabricator guidelines. With a healthy combination of skilled craftsman and CNC equipment we have increased our productivity every year since 2008.

We encourage all our all clients and or potential clients to visit our shop in Spring Valley and see our team at work first hand; the pride we take in our work and the versatility of our fabricators is on display every day.

INSTALLATION

For many steel sub-contractors today it is either or – fabricate or erect – not Quality Iron. We do all of our own fabrication and erection. With a half a dozen active field crews out at any time, we have proven that a comprehensive model of fabrication and erection can not only be accomplished in an effective manner, but it is an unbeatable value to our clients.

Bundling our products is key to our pricing strategy and providing the field resources to offer a complete solution to our clients is just another example of how we have listened to our clients and created a solution to their most common challenge – managing several steel trades for each project is not necessary with Quality Iron, we offer a one-trade model that saves our clients' money and streamlines the project towards the final goal of completion in the field.
