About Quality Iron

On Q

Over the years Quality Iron has earned an impressive EMR – Experience Modification Rate – by emphasizing the importance of safety every day through our onQ safety program. Our approach to managing our EMR is simple; no injuries equals no claims.

We believe that an effective safety program that prevents injuries by proactively eliminating hazards requires a daily effort. To encourage our team members to maintain this level of commitment we created the onQ safety program.

To be formally recognized by Quality Iron through the onQ program employees must meet required safety goals over a period of time in three key areas;

  1. Consistency – Quality Iron holds weekly shop fabrication safety meetings and per our AISC certification all of our filed crews are required to meet no less than once every ten days in the field for safety tailgate meetings. Team members must participate in 100 days of consistent safety meetings to be recognized.
  2. Planning – Unfortunately injuries do happen, but having a response plan is essential to managing the injury event in an organized and efficient manner. All employees’ are required to complete the onQ injury planning training program before beginning their careers with Quality Iron.
  3. Communication – All of the meetings and planning are only as good as the team leader’s ability to communicate effectively. All shop and field foreman are required to attend a quarterly safety seminar that focuses on communications techniques and role playing exercises.

Safety requires a consistent commitment and at Quality Iron we follow a program that fosters a safe work environment on a daily basis. Be Safe!
